NTT DATA Romania SA
AUTOSAR Software Architect (Remote, RO)
Who We Are We don’t just develop embedded software — we engineer intelligence into products. The Embedded Competence Center at NTT DATA Romania brings together experts in embedded systems, firmware development, and hardware–software integration, delivering robust and high-performance solutions for complex, safety-critical environments. With strong expertise in C/C++, AUTOSAR, real-time operating systems, and communication protocols, we design scalable embedded architectures, integrate software seamlessly with hardware, and ensure compliance with industry standards. Across the industries we support — from Automotive and Industrial Automation to Smart Devices and IoT — we transform reliable embedded technology into a foundation for innovative, dependable products. We are looking for an experienced AUTOSAR Software Architect to support the development of automotive DC/DC Converter products within the e-Mobility domain. The ideal candidate combines strong AUTOSAR Classic architecture expertise with a solid embedded software background. Previous experience with DC/DC converters, On-Board Chargers (OBC), Inverters, Battery Management Systems (BMS), or other power electronics/e-Mobility ECUs is highly preferred. Please note that this opportunity is available exclusively on a freelance/contractor basis (B2B engagement). We are currently not considering permanent employment applications for this role. What you'll be doing • Define and maintain the AUTOSAR Classic Software Architecture for DC/DC Converter ECUs. • Translate system requirements into SW architecture, AUTOSAR SWCs, interfaces and technical concepts. • Define the interaction between Application SW, RTE, BSW and MCAL. • Define SWCs, ports/interfaces, runnable entities, task mapping and ECU communication concepts. • Perform AUTOSAR architecture development and configuration using Vector DaVinci Developer and DaVinci Configurator. • Configure and integrate Vector MICROSAR BSW modules and stacks. • Define and support configuration of: • Communication & Network Management • Diagnostics • Memory • AUTOSAR OS • ECU State Management • Watchdog • Crypto / Security • Support RTE generation, BSW configuration and ECU configuration workflows. • Analyze and resolve ARXML, configuration, integration and generation issues within the AUTOSAR toolchain. • Define interfaces between AUTOSAR software and DC/DC power electronics control/application software. • Support communication and diagnostics based on CAN/CAN-FD, UDS and XCP. • Drive architectural decisions regarding real-time behavior, performance, memory, safety and resource utilization. • Support SW integration, debugging and complex cross-layer problem solving. • Collaborate with System, Functional Safety, Hardware, BSW, Application SW, Integration and Test teams. • Ensure compliance with Automotive SPICE and ISO 26262 requirements. What you'll bring along • 8+ years of experience in Automotive Embedded Software, including experience as an AUTOSAR Software Architect, AUTOSAR Expert or Technical Lead. • Strong expertise in AUTOSAR Classic. • Strong hands-on experience with the Vector AUTOSAR ecosystem • Practical experience with AUTOSAR configuration, ARXML handling, RTE generation and BSW integration. • Deep understanding of RTE, BSW, MCAL and AUTOSAR OS. • Experience with AUTOSAR communication, diagnostics, memory and network-management stacks. • Strong knowledge of CAN/CAN-FD and UDS. • Strong understanding of Embedded C and real-time embedded systems. • Experience debugging complex AUTOSAR integration and configuration issues. • Good understanding of Automotive SPICE and ISO 26262. • Previous experience with DC/DC Converter products. • Experience with OBC, Inverter, BMS or other e-Mobility / power electronics ECUs. • Understanding of power electronics control software and its interaction with AUTOSAR. • Knowledge of bootloader, secure flashing and automotive cybersecurity. • Experience designing software architectures according to ASIL / Functional Safety requirements.
