Position: Bilingual Portuguese STEM Expert (PhD) — AI Safety Type: Contract Compensation: $50–$54/hour Location: Remote Commitment: 20+ hours/week Role Responsibilities • Write expert-level prompts in Portuguese across specialized scientific topics. • Evaluate and annotate model responses for scientific accuracy and helpfulness. • Apply structured guidelines to classify prompts and conversations. • Strengthen model handling of sensitive content in Portuguese . • Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines. Qualifications Must-Have • PhD in chemistry , biology , or a closely related field. • Native or near-native fluency in Portuguese . • Business-level written English . • Deep familiarity with modern laboratory and computational techniques. • Sound judgment around scientific safety and dual-use information. Preferred • Based in Portugal or Western Europe . • Expertise in radiochemistry , nuclear chemistry , or related fields. • Depth in subfields like organic synthesis , molecular biology , or virology . • Experience with chemical safety, biosafety, or hazardous-materials handling. • Experience reviewing or red-teaming technical content.
