SkillNet Solutions Inc
Business Analyst / Business Consultant-B2B Commerce
Location: Remote US Type: Contractor Duration: 6 months Position Summary SkillNet Solutions is hiring a Business Analyst / Business Consultant to lead discovery and requirements definition for complex B2B ordering and commerce implementations. This role sits at the center of our client engagements — running discovery workshops directly with client stakeholders, translating business needs into functional requirements, and partnering closely with technical delivery teams through build and deployment. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with B2B commerce platforms and a strong grasp of the ordering complexity found in made-to-order, engineered-to-order, industrial manufacturing, wholesale distribution, and life sciences environments. Key Responsibilities • Lead client-facing discovery workshops to elicit, challenge, and validate B2B commerce and ordering requirements across sales, operations, and IT stakeholders. • Translate complex B2B ordering scenarios — configured products, contract pricing, quote-to-order workflows, approval hierarchies, and account-based catalogs — into clear, structured functional requirements. • Partner directly with technical architects and delivery teams to ensure requirements are implementable, and remain engaged through design, build, and testing to resolve ambiguity as it surfaces. • Produce discovery deliverables including current-state/future-state process maps, functional requirements documents, user stories, and gap/fit analyses against the target platform. • Advise clients on B2B commerce best practices specific to their industry — made-to-order and engineered-to-order configuration logic, industrial distribution ordering patterns, wholesale account structures, or life sciences compliance and ordering constraints. • Support solution scoping and estimation during presales, including SOW input and workshop planning for prospective engagements. • Identify downstream risks or scope gaps early and escalate proactively to engagement leadership. Required Experience • 5+ years as a Business Analyst or Business Consultant on B2B commerce or B2B ordering platform implementations. • Direct, hands-on experience with at least one of the following platforms: Spryker, Shopify (Plus/B2B), SAP Commerce Cloud, Kibo, or a comparable enterprise B2B commerce platform. • Demonstrated experience leading client discovery workshops independently, including agenda design, stakeholder facilitation, and synthesis of findings into requirements. • Proven track record developing functional requirements in close, ongoing collaboration with a technical delivery team — not requirements handed off and forgotten. • Domain exposure to at least one of: made-to-order or engineered-to-order manufacturing, industrial manufacturing/distribution, wholesale, or life sciences commerce. • Strong working knowledge of B2B commerce constructs: complex pricing and contracts, punchout/procurement integration, account hierarchies, approval workflows, and configure-price-quote (CPQ) concepts. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to operate credibly in front of client VP- and director-level stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications • Experience across more than one of the named platforms (Spryker, Shopify, SAP Commerce, Kibo). • Prior consulting or systems-integrator experience, versus in-house/brand-side only. • Familiarity with ERP integration points relevant to B2B ordering (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar). • Exposure to Agile delivery methodologies and backlog/user story management tooling (Jira, Azure DevOps). • Prior experience supporting presales activities — discovery-stage scoping, SOW input, or solution estimation. Engagement Details • Reports into SkillNet's Client Engagement organization (Strategic Consulting / Global Presales). • Client-facing role with travel as required by active engagements. • Immediate start — candidate should be available to begin an active client discovery engagement with minimal ramp time.
