Freelance Sales Representative
Category: Consulting Location: The Freelance Sales Representative will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, promoting consulting service offerings, and securing client engagements. The role requires a strong ability to articulate consulting value propositions, understand client pain points, and position advisory services that improve organizational performance, operational efficiency, and strategy execution. Requirements Key Responsibilities Business Development & Lead Generation • Identify and engage potential clients in sectors such as government, corporate, financial services, ICT, transportation and other industries requiring consulting support. • Generate qualified leads through networking, referrals, research, cold outreach, industry events, and digital channels. • Understand client needs, challenges, and strategic priorities and match them to the company’s consulting solutions. • Promote service offerings such as Business Analysis, Change Management, Process Improvement, Strategy Facilitation, Business Architecture, and Digital Transformation. • Secure discovery meetings and present consulting capabilities to executive stakeholders. Sales Process Management • Manage the full sales cycle—from prospecting to closing engagements. • Prepare and deliver professional pitch decks, capability statements, proposals, and quotations. • Follow up on submissions and nurture prospects to conversion. • Negotiate contract terms, scope, and commercial arrangements within approved guidelines. Client Relationship Building • Build trust-based, long-term relationships with decision-makers and influencers. • Maintain regular engagement with existing clients to identify new opportunities. • Represent the consulting brand professionally in all interactions. Reporting & Administrative Duties • Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, proposals, and closed deals. • Provide weekly or monthly sales updates, activity logs, and performance reports. • Participate in check-in meetings with the Business Development/Management team. Required Skills & Competencies • Strong understanding of the consulting and professional services landscape. • Ability to articulate intangible value—advisory, expertise, methodologies, and outcomes. • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. • Ability to influence executives and senior stakeholders. • High level of professionalism, self-motivation, and independent work ethic. • Strong prospecting and closing skills. • Confidence in explaining complex business concepts in simple terms. Qualifications & Experience • 1+ years of sales experience in consulting, professional services, management advisory, ICT solutions, or related fields. • Proven track record in generating leads and closing consulting/advisory engagements. • Strong business acumen and understanding of strategic, operational, and organizational improvement domains. • Experience selling to senior stakeholders (Directors, Executives, Managers). • Own laptop, smartphone, and professional communication tools. • Own transport (For field client visits). Tools & Requirements • Ability to use CRM or sales tracking systems. • Proficiency in MS Office or Google Workspace, especially PowerPoint and Excel. • Ability to prepare basic proposals, quotations, and pitch materials. • Familiarity with LinkedIn and other B2B engagement platforms.
