Role Title: Japanese Language Expert Role Type: Contractor Location: Remote micro1 is engaging Japanese Transcription Experts to contribute to a customer project focused on audio transcription and AI training. In this role, you'll apply your Japanese language expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters. Scope of Work • Transcribe Japanese audio samples accurately, capturing content, context, speaker nuances, and linguistic details. • Review, edit, and validate Japanese transcripts for completeness, clarity, and adherence to project guidelines. • Correct errors, inconsistencies, or ambiguities in machine-generated or human-created transcriptions. • Annotate audio files or transcripts with relevant metadata and contextual notes as required. • Collaborate with project managers and other experts to ensure consistency and quality across deliverables. • Use transcription tools and platforms to process and submit work according to project requirements. • Contribute linguistic and cultural insights to improve AI model understanding and performance. Preferred Qualifications • Native-level fluency in Japanese, with strong comprehension of both spoken and written language. • Professional experience in audio transcription, linguistic review, localization, or related language work is strongly encouraged. • Familiarity with transcription conventions, audio review workflows, annotation tools, or speech data projects is preferred. • Keen attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to recognize subtle language, pronunciation, or context differences in audio samples. • Proficiency in English to follow project instructions and manage occasional English-language content. • Previous participation in AI training data, data annotation, or language technology projects is a plus. • Strong organizational skills and commitment to delivering high-quality, timely submissions.
