Karen - English Remote Interpreter
This is a remote position. We are looking for professional remote interpreters fluent in Karen and English who want to join an international company and support clear communication across cultures. As an Over-the-Phone Interpreter (OPI) / Video Remote Interpreter (VRI), you will provide accurate and professional interpretation between Karen and English speakers across different industries, with a primary focus on healthcare and community services. You will ensure accuracy, neutrality, and professionalism in every conversation. Requirements Your background and experience • Fluent in English and native in Karen. • Minimum of 1 year of OPI or VRI experience with a recognized interpretation provider (preferred but not mandatory). • Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred but not mandatory). • Awareness of legal terminology is a plus. • International certifications in the healthcare industry (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.) are an advantage. • High school diploma in your native language. • High emotional intelligence and ability to work across cultures. • Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills. Technical Requirements As this is a fully remote position, candidates must meet the following technical requirements: Internet • Dedicated, high-speed, private, and secure connection. • Minimum download speed: 10 Mbps. • Minimum upload speed: 4 Mbps. • Wired Ethernet connection (Wi-Fi is not allowed). System • Windows 10 operating system or higher. • Processor: Dual Core, 2 GHz or above (Intel Core i5 or superior recommended). • Minimum 8 GB RAM. Equipment • Single devices (desktops or laptops) meet the system requirements (no mobile phones or tablets). • Noise-canceling, wired USB headset with built-in microphone (no Bluetooth or 3.5mm adapters). • Device must operate in “High Performance” mode, plugged in (not on battery). • External monitors and connectors are allowed if compatible. • Chromebook or Mac devices are not permitted.
