This is a remote position. Korean-to-English or English-to-Korean Translator and/or Editor Remote | Ongoing, Freelance Independent Contractor Opportunity ​ **Important Requirement: Candidates mustbe U.S.citizenswilling tocompletea Tier 1 background investigation, including fingerprinting. Position Overview: GLS isseekingan experienced Korean-to-English or English-to-Korean translator and editor tosupport ongoing document translation and editing assignments. This remote, freelance independent contractor role involves translating and editing a variety of official documents, including vital records, legal documents, official certificates, and academic transcripts. Assignments will be provided on an as-needed basis and may require quick turnaround timelines. Key Responsibiliti​​es: • Translate Korean to English or English to Korean into an accurate product. • Edit and review translated materials for accuracy, grammar, formatting, and consistency. • Maintain confidentiality and follow all client-specific instructions and formatting requirements. • Meet assigned deadlines, including one-to-two-day turnaround timelines, when required, Requirements Qualifications: • U.S. Citizenship and current residence in the United States are required. • Native or highly proficient Korean and English language skills. • A Bachelor’s degree in translation, linguistics, language studies, or an equivalent qualification is preferred. • Two to five years of proven experience as a translator and/or editor. • Strong attention to detail, excellent formatting skills, and the ability to produce client-ready work. • Reliable, deadline-oriented, highly productive, and comfortable working independently. • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, professional approach. • Access to up-to-date Windows software and the ability to work with standard document formats. • Able to provide per-word rates for translation and editing. • Willingness to accept assignments on an as-needed basis.
