This is a remote position. Supporting a group of property businesses, this part-time remote contract position manages day-to-day bookkeeping and transaction reconciliations. Operating with flexible scheduling overlapping UK business hours, the position maintains financial records for residential property acquisition, refurbishment, letting, sales, and holiday let management. Commencing with 5 to 8 hours per week, there is potential expansion to 10 to 12 hours per week. The role focuses on managing monthly income reconciliations across multiple revenue streams, matching payout and transaction reports line-by-line against bank statements. Working under the direct supervision of the Director and alongside an established Virtual Assistant, the successful candidate ensures accurate transaction logging, expense coding, and document processing to deliver clean records to external accountants. The environment requires a detail-oriented, discreet, and reliable administrative specialist who takes accountability for financial record-keeping across several companies simultaneously. Key Responsibilities • Monthly Income Reconciliation: Pull payout and transaction reports across multiple income channels—including Booking.com, Airbnb, Eviivo, FDMS card terminals, and legal completion statements—and match them line-by-line against PDF bank statements, separating host fees, commissions, and adjustments. • Reconciliation Reporting: Produce monthly reconciliation reports highlighting matched line items, missing entries, and transactional discrepancies requiring query. • General Bookkeeping: Record sales, purchases, receipts, and payments across multiple group entities, maintaining reconciled accounts and coding income and costs accurately to specific companies and properties. • Intercompany & Loan Tracking: Track intercompany loan accounts across group businesses and record interest charges accurately. • Document Management & Invoice Capture: Collect invoices and receipts via email or scanning, upload documents into Dext to flow into accounting software, and chase missing documentation Requirements Essential Requirements • Minimum of 2 years' proven bookkeeping or accounts administration experience. • Confident working proficiency with Dext, Xero, or QuickBooks. • Strong capability in spreadsheet management using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and discretion when handling confidential financial information. • Excellent command of written English. • Based in South Africa with a reliable internet connection, a quiet home workspace, and an operational load-shedding contingency plan. • Ability to work flexible part-time hours overlapping UK business hours. Desirable Requirements • Experience working with UK clients, including knowledge of VAT and Making Tax Digital (MTD). • A recognised bookkeeping qualification • Experience handling holiday-let accounts, including Booking.com, Airbnb, Eviivo payout reports, and card terminal settlements. • Experience managing multi-company bookkeeping functions simultaneously.
