Senior Network Engineer (Wireless / Aruba / ISP Infrastructure) – Remote | EST Hours Position Type: Full-Time | Independent Contractor Working Hours: U.S. Business Hours (EST) About the Role At Pavago , one of our clients is hiring a Senior Network Engineer to support and optimize wireless and network infrastructure in a fast-moving technical environment. What You’ll Own Wireless Networking (Core Focus) • Support and deploy enterprise wireless solutions: • Aruba (preferred) • Cisco • Ubiquiti • Similar platforms • Configure and troubleshoot: • Access points • Wireless controllers • Cloud-managed systems • Optimize: • Coverage • Performance • Reliability • Support wireless troubleshooting and RF-related issues Network Infrastructure & Routing • Configure and troubleshoot: • Routing • Switching • VLANs • Segmentation • Work with: • TCP/IP • OSPF • BGP • Support network stability and uptime across environments ISP / WISP Infrastructure (Strong Plus) • Work within ISP/WISP-style environments • Support: • Point-to-Point (PTP) links • Point-to-Multipoint (PTMP) wireless systems • Assist with: • Network monitoring • Uptime management • Connectivity troubleshooting CLI Configuration & Troubleshooting • Work with CLI-based configurations across network devices • Diagnose: • Connectivity issues • Packet loss • Performance bottlenecks • Outages • Use monitoring and packet analysis tools to identify root causes What Makes You a Strong Fit • You are hands-on and comfortable troubleshooting live environments • You enjoy solving infrastructure and connectivity issues • You are comfortable working independently in remote environments • You can communicate technical issues clearly to teams and stakeholders • You think proactively about reliability and performance Required Experience & Skills • Experience in: • Network engineering • Network support • Infrastructure support • Strong understanding of: • Routing & switching • Wireless networking • TCP/IP fundamentals • Comfortable with: • CLI configurations • Network troubleshooting • Infrastructure diagnostics • Experience working with: • Aruba (preferred but not required) • Cisco • MikroTik • Ubiquiti • Similar networking platforms Nice to Have • Aruba wireless experience • ISP / WISP environment exposure • RF planning or wireless optimization experience • Networking certifications: • CCNA • CCNP • Aruba certifications • MikroTik certifications • Experience with: • Monitoring systems • Packet capture tools • Network uptime optimization What a Typical Day Looks Like • Configure and troubleshoot network devices • Support wireless deployments and optimization • Investigate connectivity and performance issues • Monitor infrastructure reliability and uptime • Collaborate with teams on network improvements • Resolve technical incidents and escalations In short: You help maintain stable, high-performing wireless and network infrastructure across real-world production environments.
