Our partner, a Fortune 500 company , runs an Emerging Tech lab that builds rapid proofs of concept to test how emerging technologies — AI, Blockchain, IoT, Robotics, VR/AR — can be applied to real business use cases. We're looking for Senior Quantum Engineers to bring quantum computing competency to their team. You'll design and prototype quantum and hybrid quantum-classical solutions, build AI assets (e.g., plugins) that drive the firm-wide AI strategy, and contribute to ongoing AI and quantum R&D initiatives. This is a long-term, fully remote contract position (likely extension) with required US working hours overlap (2-6 PM CET). Responsibilities • Quantum algorithms: design, implement, and benchmark quantum algorithms (Shor's, Grover's, variational quantum algorithms) for business use cases. • Quantum optimization: formulate optimization problems as QUBOs and solve them with D-Wave's quantum annealing (Leap/Ocean). • Gate-based development: build and run quantum circuits using IBM Qiskit on platforms such as IBM Q, Rigetti, or Google Quantum. • Prototyping & PoCs: rapidly turn hypotheses into prototypes, demos, and learnings that teams and clients use to decide where to invest in emerging tech. • AI assets & R&D: develop AI assets (e.g., plugins) and contribute to R&D initiatives, including quantum NLP and quantum cryptography use cases. • Performance: write efficient classical code (Python, C++, Julia) with a focus on optimization and computational efficiency. Work Conditions • Type: Full-time, Long-term contract • Start Date : ASAP • Location : Remote • US Time Zone Overlap : Required ( 2 PM - 6 PM CET , ideally until 7 PM CET) • Contract with EU LLC Requirements Must have • 2-5 years of experience , including at least 1 year in quantum computing (quantum algorithms / quantum cryptography), the rest in Generative AI or Data Science. • Deep understanding of quantum computing fundamentals — linear algebra, quantum mechanics, entanglement, superposition, and quantum error correction. • Hands-on experience with quantum algorithms — Shor's, Grover's, and variational quantum algorithms. • Gate-based quantum systems & IBM Qiskit , plus familiarity with quantum hardware (superconducting qubits, trapped ions) and platforms like IBM Q, Rigetti, or Google Quantum. • D-Wave quantum annealing — Leap/Ocean and hands-on QUBO formulation for optimization problems. • Knowledge of quantum cryptography and quantum NLP . • Strong Python skills , with a focus on optimization and computational efficiency. • Understanding of machine learning and deep learning algorithms (random forests, ensemble methods, DNNs, CNNs), when to apply each, and open-source frameworks ( PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras ). • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present prototypes and findings to technical and business stakeholders. • Have a consultancy mindset → always try to find a solution for the client Nice to have • Research publications on quantum algorithms or applications (e.g., quantum simulation, linear algebra, cryptography) in reputable international journals. • Practical experience applying ML & deep learning with TensorFlow, Keras, and Scikit-learn in Python. • Experience with C++ or Julia . Highlights If you are passionate about Quantum Computing , AI , and turning emerging tech into working prototypes , this role with our client offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of computing!
